VOLUNTEER EXPERIENCE
Tutor
For most of my four years at Wesleyan University, I volunteered for the local Middletown middle school, Woodrow Wilson Middle School. I tutored 7th and 8th grade students who had been struggling and were at risk of failing, also acting as a role model and mentor.
Volunteer sexual assault crisis counselor
After an application process and 50 hours of in-person training with the local Women and Families Center, I became certified in Connecticut as a Sexual Assault Crisis Counselor. My duties included responding to sexual assaults or related incidents on hotline calls and to provide in-person support and counseling at local surrounding hospitals to give resources and options to survivors.
Fair trade intern
As an Intern at a local fair trade gift shop, I assisted store managers with store design and visual merchandising. However, I was mainly responsible for the store’s social media presence; I composed and scheduled social media posts to create a stronger social media presence. After thorough research and analysis of each platform and the target audience of the store, I organized a Facebook Ad campaign and increased the amount of likes by over 10%, and exponentially increased engagement with all of their social media pages.
